i can't hold it in any longer.
i can't keep this promise forever.
i know how much you counted on me to keep it in.
but i can't anymore.

it's gotta come out.
it's yurning for freedom.
i've got to tell everyone.

i know how you'll react.
i fear the effect.
but once it's out,
it can't be pulled back in.

i hate keeping secrets.
especially from loved ones.
i hate keeping you're secrets.
i have to let them fly.

they'll buzz around and around.
and i can tell
that eventually they'll come home.

and everyone will know the awful truth.
about you.

i know it's hard to believe
that I would tell a secret.
but i can't keep it.

this one's hard to settle down.
i've got to let it roam the town.

i'm EXTREMELY disappointed in you.
you've let me down.
i know you'll probably never forgive me.
but i'm already used to it.

there's lots of things i haven't told.
this one's not even half.
so before i let the truth unfold.
i'll let you have your laugh.

i know you're laughing.
you're thinking i won't do it.
but if you push me hard enough
i'm sure i'll pull it off.

i've got to get this off my chest.
there's nothing left for me to do.
so before i go out and confess.
just know that i love you.

there's tons of ways that i can say it.
i know you know them too.
just be glad
that half the people that i know
don't know you like they should.

i watched you lie there on your back
on the dirty bathroom floor.
you said that you wished you could die.
but i wished you'd said no more.

i know that i'm the one you call
when you've fallen.
but know this,
one day, there won't be anyone there.
and my number will be on your fridge
and you'll call it.
and i'll answer.
and you won't hear anything
after you've told me what just happened.

all you'll hear is screeching rubber
up against that black terrain.
and then a honk
in front of your home.

you'll hang up and answer the door.
i'll be standing there in tears.
i'll bet you know the rest.
